What is an Algorithm?

In GCSE Computer Science, an algorithm is defined as a precise set of rules or instructions to solve a specific problem or task.

Imagine you are making a sandwich, an algorithm for that might be: 1) get two slices of bread, 2) add your fillings, and 3) put the slices together. If you follow these instructions in order, you'll end up with a delicious sandwich!
