Frequently Asked Questions

Physics is a demanding A Level. The content is conceptually challenging, the maths needs applying to complex scenarios, and your exam answers must be precise. However, keeping on top of the maths, working through past papers regularly, and not letting gaps accumulate early on makes a significant difference.

It’s not a formal requirement, but it’s a sensible combination choice. A Level Physics involves calculus, trigonometry, algebra, and logarithms. Students without A Level Maths alongside it tend to find the course much harder. Most universities also require or strongly prefer Maths alongside Physics for any physics-related degree. Taking them together is strongly advisable.
