The carbohydrates produced by plants during photosynthesis are used in various ways, e.g.
Converted into starch molecules for energy storage inside cells
Converted into cellulose to build cell walls
Glucose can be used in respiration to release energy
Converted to sucrose for transport in the phloem
During production of nectar to attract insects for pollination
Plants can also convert carbohydrates into lipids and amino acids
