Feminism is a social and political movement that advocates for the equality of the sexes, aiming to address and dismantle the systemic inequalities and discrimination faced by women. It encompasses a range of theories and perspectives that challenge traditional gender roles and seek to empower individuals regardless of gender.

In the context of GCSE Sociology, feminism examines the ways in which gender inequality is perpetuated in society, including in areas like education, work, and family life, and encourages critical thinking about how these inequalities can be addressed and resolved.
