Difference - GCSE Maths Definition

In GCSE Maths, the term 'difference' refers to the result you get when you subtract one number from another. It shows how much two numbers are apart from each other.

For example, if you have the numbers 10 and 4, the difference between them is 6, because 10 minus 4 equals 6. Understanding the difference is important when comparing quantities, finding distances, or solving various other maths problems.
