Adjacent - GCSE Maths Definition

In GCSE Maths, "adjacent" refers to two objects or elements that are next to each other or share a common side.

For example, in a right-angled triangle, the side next to a given angle is called the adjacent side. This identifies it as being different from the opposite side or the hypotenuse.
