In GCSE Chemistry, a product is a new substance formed during a chemical reaction. The original substances that react are called reactants, and the substances made are the products.
For example:
Hydrogen + Oxygen → Water
In this reaction, water is the product.
Products can be elements or compounds, and they can be in any state of matter (solid, liquid, or gas). Understanding products helps explain how substances change and what new materials are formed in chemical reactions.
