Niels Bohr - GCSE Chemistry Definition

Niels Bohr was a Danish scientist who made key contributions to our understanding of atomic structure. He is best known for developing the Bohr Model of the atom. In this model, electrons move around the nucleus in fixed energy levels (or shells), rather than randomly.
This idea helped explain why atoms form chemical bonds in certain ways. Bohr’s work improved earlier models like the Nuclear Model and helped shape the modern atomic theory taught in GCSE Chemistry.
