What is domain in IB maths?
In the context of the IB Maths course, a domain refers to the complete set of possible input values for which a given function is defined.
Essentially, it includes all the values that can be used as inputs (usually represented as ) in a function. This must exclude any values that would result in mathematical contradictions or undefined expressions, such as division by zero or the square root of a negative number when dealing with real numbers.
