About
Naomi has been a Maths Content Creator for Save My Exams since September 2021. Before this she spent 13 years both teaching in the classroom and privately tutoring students in Mathematics.
In order to keep in close contact with the day to day issues faced by students and in the Education Sector in general, Naomi continues to tutor students privately and volunteers as a School Governor at a local state secondary school.
Naomi has extensive experience in teaching internationally and uses this experience to ensure that the content she creates is inclusive to all learners including those with English as an additional language.
Naomi has provided departmental training for the use of technology in the Mathematics classroom as well as school-wide training on being an effective tutor.
In her role as founding House Parent at an international school in Switzerland, Naomi was an instrumental part of the creation and management of the organisational systems within the boarding house. She also enjoyed planning weekend activities that often involved STEM projects!
Throughout her years in teaching, Naomi has organised and run a variety of extra-curricular activities for students including a Maths Puzzle Club and Student Maths Support sessions.
Before starting a career in teaching, Naomi worked in the Civil Engineering industry and was awarded several bursaries to support her in her university studies.
Outside of work, Naomi enjoys a variety of activities and can usually found doing something creative, be that sewing, knitting or photography. She also loves travelling and going on adventures with her family!
Education
Naomi graduated from Durham University with a Masters in Civil Engineering (MEng). She then went on to complete her PGCE in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Cambridge.
Expertise
Naomi has taught Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and IB.
She has had experience teaching both in the UK and internationally, having spent 9 years living and teaching in Malaysia and Switzerland.
Her area of expertise is, IGCSE and IB Applications and Interpretations.
Naomi has always enjoyed teaching applied Mathematics as she loves using Maths in the real world. She always looks forward to teaching Voronoi diagrams.
