As a senior examiner and team leader for 15 years, he has also been a GCSE and A Level reviewer and advisor, and delivered CPD sessions for teachers as part of AQA’s A Level in Creative Writing. He also leads standardisation and moderation sessions with online teaching colleagues.

He has also worked for the International Baccalaureate and WJEC Eduqas as a writer and reviewer.

Matthew is the co-author of three KS3 English textbooks for Harper Collins’ Aiming For… series. He also writes and edits ‘Writing in Education' magazine for the National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE). Matthew currently teaches GCSE English to adult groups, and also young people, on a one-to-one basis.
