Lorraine has been with Save My Exams since 2023. She was a teacher in Ireland and internationally for 12 years. In Dublin, Lorraine was Head of the Geography Department. In Milan, London and Vienna she was Head of the Economics Department. She has taught the GCSE, MYP, IBDP and Junior Cycle & Leaving Cert curriculums
Lorraine's commitment to economics is evident in her mentorship of students through the Young Economist of the Year competition. Her support and guidance resulted in students winning finalist awards. She also supported students interest in economics by facilitating an Economics Book Club. Understanding the need for accessible resources, she developed a detailed economics website for students preparing for the Irish Leaving Cert economics exam
Her interest in environmental issues has led her to integrate cross-curricular approaches between geography and economics. This inspired initiatives such as the setting up of Green Schools. She also motivated students to engage in SEAI's "One Good Idea" competition annually, with a focus on addressing environmental concerns
In her spare time, Lorraine is a hiking, skiing and running enthusiast. During the summer, she can be found training for her next marathon or swimming off the coast of Ireland. She is also a passionate lifelong learner, continuously undertaking courses in GIS, climate change, and is currently learning French
Lorraine graduated from the National University of Ireland, Galway with a BA in Economics and Geography and MSc in Economics. She completed her PGCE at National University of Ireland, Maynooth
Lorraine's area of expertise includes teaching IBDP economics and serving as an extended essay supervisor, guiding an average of six student per year
Her passion for teaching environmental economics and sustainability extends beyond the classroom, as she has established an environmental economics club to further explore these issues with students
