Education and Teaching Experience
Lindsay graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Greenwich and earned her Science Communication MSc at Imperial College London. After working in journalism for ten years or so she retrained as a teacher, taking her PGCE at the University of Bristol. Lindsay taught in international schools in the Middle East for over a decade and was for several years the Head of Physics responsible for the Physics and Astronomy courses in a prestigious private school in Kuwait. She also taught IGCSE Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Examining Experience
Lindsay is an examiner for Cambridge (CIE) and Edexcel. Her experience ranges from A Level Physics to IGCSE and O Level Physics and Biology, as well as evaluating Portfolios of Evidence when no exams could take place. She would like to say that marking at least 800 graphs every summer has taught her never to use pen!
Student and Teacher Success
At the start of her career as a science communicator Lindsay wrote her dissertation on the brand new British Science Week (still going strong thirty years later), and was lucky enough to work at the British Science Association organising the Week. As a teacher she continues to love the ‘extras’, introducing and running both the Crest Awards and F1 in Schools at her last school.
Published Work
Before teaching Lindsay was already an unstoppable communicator, as a producer on the award-winning current affairs programme Frontline Scotland and in the news room of BBC Glasgow. As a teacher she contributed to Cambridge’s Resource Plus teaching resources, worked on Pearson’s IAL Teacher's Resource Packs and has written questions and content for various EdTech sites.
