Jacqueline’s specialism is Environmental Science, but she has equal experience in both teaching and tutoring human and physical Geography. She particularly loves teaching A Level, where inspiring the next generation with a deep understanding of the interconnected world is priceless.
Jacqueline has experience teaching and tutoring a range of exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, CIE and OCR, at GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and International A Level, both in the classroom and online. Jacqueline continues to tutor part-time online, where she continues to inspire students in the study of geography, a subject she has examined at GCSE and A Level in the past.
Jacqueline has been with Save My Exams since September 2022 and enjoys her role as a Geography Content Creator. Jacqueline contributes her experience in both teaching and tutoring to the role, as well as an unwavering commitment to education for all. In fact, Jacqueline considers herself to be a life-long learner, and recently began restudying Latin, having just finished an online course in ‘Planetary Boundaries and Human Opportunities’ by Johan Rockström of Stockholm Resilience Centre.
Jacqueline studied her degree online with the Open University and understands what it takes to create high quality, easily accessible, and useful content. Prior to working at Save My Exams, Jacqueline taught online for a leading education provider, where she created all the geography courses across the Key Stages and taught hundreds of students through their study of Geography, before, during and after COVID-19.
In her spare time, Jacqueline enjoys gardening, cooking, solving puzzles, reading and has an eclectic taste in music.
Jacqueline initially graduated in post-compulsory education with a Certificate in Education in Adult and Higher education. She later gained a BSc First Class Open Degree from the Open University, Milton Keynes. She then went on to complete her secondary PGCE in Geography at the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David, Swansea.
Jacqueline has been in education for over 20 years and in that time, she has lived and taught overseas, brought up 4 children and headed up a brand-new department in a newly built University Technical College (UTC).
Teaching at the new UTC meant leading the first sets of students through their A Levels and GCSEs and building the teaching methodology and course structure to align with the core principles of blending technical learning with academic success.
It was here that Jacqueline adapted and developed remote teaching, allowing her to tackle challenges such as fieldwork through virtual tours and experiments. Using online assessments and quizzes to quickly assess and inform students of their progress while keeping them engaged.
This led to a passion for remote teaching, and Jacqueline spent over 8 years inspiring students to link different concepts and challenge misconceptions in Geography before using her skills to produce content at Save My Exams.
“I always say to my Geography students that they should KISS their answer. Keep It Simples. Answer the question, and don’t try to be clever. Time is against you. Say what you want to say and move on. ”
