Amber has been a Maths Content Creator for Save My Exams since July 2021. Before this she spent 8 years teaching Mathematics both in the UK and internationally, including 3 years as Head of Mathematics.
Amber has 5 years of experience in teaching CIE Mathematics across key stages 3, 4 and 5 at an international school in Thailand. During this time she was instrumental in building schemes of work and enhancing curriculum delivery to all students.
In her role as Head of Mathematics Amber was responsible for overseeing a change of syllabus in the CIE iGCSE Mathematics course and implementing teacher training to ensure the successful integration of the new topics into the curriculum.
During her time as a teacher, Amber coordinated and ran various Mathematics workshops for students, as well as extra revision clubs in preparation for exams.
Amber has also worked as a Mathematics tutor, tutoring students both online and face to face, privately and in groups, focusing on revision and exam preparation.
Outside of work, Amber enjoys hiking, camping and generally being outside. Whilst teaching in the international school she also supported in the delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award and joined students of many overnight hikes, both as a supervisor and an assessor of the award.
Amber graduated from the University of Reading with a first class honours degree in Mathematics and Meteorology in 2008.
Amber completed her PGCE in Secondary Education at Bath Spa University and gained her QTS the following year.
Amber has taught Mathematics at Key Stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE and A Level.
She has had experience teaching both in the UK and internationally, having spent 6 years living and teaching in Thailand.
Her area of expertise is CIE GCSE and A Level, she particularly enjoys teaching the Probability and Statistics 1 and 2 modules.
Amber’s favourite topic to teach is Permutations and Combinations. She loves looking at how many different ways a problem can be approached and helping students get their heads around the most complicated problems!
